Abstract
The aim of the study was to identify the level of green behavior of employees at
the Brega Petroleum Marketing Company in Benghazi City. The descriptive approach
was followed, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data. The study
population was represented by all employees of the company, who numbered (2855)
members, and a simple random sample was taken, consisting of (339) individuals.
The number of questionnaires suitable for statistical analysis was (290)
questionnaires. The study concluded that the level of green behavior of employees at
Brega Company was high, and that the most practiced dimensions of green behavior
in the company is the harm avoidance dimension, which came in first place, followed
by the dimension of taking initiative, then the dimension of influencing others, then
preserving resources and finally the dimension of working sustainably. Accordingly,
the study presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:
enhancing Brega Company's interest in environmental aspects and maintaining the
high level of its green behavior, supporting the culture of environmental preservation
and making good use of resources, urging employees to be more environmentally
friendly and achieving sustainable development.
