This research analyzes the policies of good governance as a key approach
to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG16), which focuses on
promoting peace, justice, and building strong institutions. The first chapter
presents the conceptual framework of good governance, examining the
evolution of its definition and its core principles such as transparency,
accountability, and participation. It also highlights the indicators of (SDG16)
and its connection to governance at both local and international levels. The
second chapter addresses the institutional and legal challenges that hinder the
implementation of governance, particularly in developing countries, with
emphasis on obstacles such as corruption and weak legislative structures. The
study concludes by proposing reform policies based on international standards
aimed at enhancing oversight, strengthening the role of civil society, and
advancing digital transformation, all of which contribute to the sustainable
achievement of (SDG16).
